May 2010 -Happy Anniversary

This year is our 13th anniversary. CJ was out to sea but he was very thoughtful and had these beautiful roses delivered. He's not a chocolate and flowers kind of guy so it was really special to receive them. My love for him just keeps growing .

April 2010 -Navy Sub Ball

This year the Sub Ball was at the MGM in the Foxwoods Casino (15min from our house!). We had a really good time and I had fun getting dressed up.

I wish I had more pictures to share but we didn't want to worry about our camera all night.

April 2010 -The Sunshine State

The weather is terrible in CT (worst flooding in decades) and CJ is still gone! Even when CJ is "home" he barely makes it home to tuck the kids in bed. So a friend and I decided to pack up the kids and drive to Florida to meet the sub (they were stopping for a couple of days in PCAN). Without hesitation we hit the road!

We stayed at the Hilton for 2 1/2 days and literally had the time of our lives!!! The hotel has a lazy river, slides, and a huge pool with a bar. There are lots of other amenities but that's what we went for. I made friends with the bar manager and he treated us with the best service we ever experienced. He took care of us whenever we were at the pool and made our trip one of the most relaxing and memorable trips ever!
Normally when people go to FL they go for all the theme parks but we went just to be with CJ. The pool area was immaculate and we noticed the staff constantly making sure everything looked perfect and security was always making rounds so we felt completely safe having the kids on there own in the pool area. We practically had it to ourselves! CJ and I bought floating chairs with cup holders (did I mention the bar?) to be in the main pool and the lazy river. The boys checked in with us from time to time;  so we were able to have some adult fun too. I can go on and on about this trip. We will always come and stay here when we visit FL.

Mini-golf a family favorite

We hit the beach for a little while only to go back to the pool!

Easter Brunch 2010

Our USS Memphis frg had a Easter get together for all the families on our sub since the guys were gone. I decided to take the boys even though it was a cold windy day because if I didn't take them we weren't going to celebrate Easter at all. Times like these make me wish I didn't live in the east coast but greatful for our sub family.

March 2010 Where are all the eagles??

I love spotting bald eagles; it's one of the things I miss the most about the PNW so I was very excited to find out that eagles come to nest (Jan - March) along the lower part of the CT River. I also thought how cool would it be a for Alex to use his camera. Well, it's Freak'n Freezing (with capital F's!) in Jan and CJ was gone a lot in Feb but he finally had some time the first week of March so I convinced him to take us to try to find them on our own instead of taking a tour since we only had a couple of hours before we had to be some where else. We did some research online to get a better idea of where to look; only to find out the main eagle observatory closed the week before! I thought maybe we will spot one anyway so we woke up early, packed some snacks, and off we went

We saw swans, seagulls, a chihuahua, flags and even a castle but no eagles!!!!

After an hour of driving and stopping along the river I came to grips with the fact that we were probably not going to spot any eagles. I was really bummed but we had fun and it was a gorgeous day.

By the way, Alex took all these pictures by himself.

Grandma Jamie comes to CT

Grandma Jamie and Paul came for a visit from WA state. They were here for Alex's birthday (the reason you don't see Alex is because for his birthday he was handed down a really nice camera; I don't have a camera this nice! but he has shown a lot of interest in photography and Nana wanted to be the one that gave him his first camera so when he is famous he will buy her a house or something like that but not before he buys me mine :)

(Calling Nana to say "thank you!")

I asked Alex if he would let me borrow the camera from time to time and he told me in the most serious tone
"I don't know.........this is very special to me and you might break it"
I could not believe my ears but I was happy that he knew that it was something he really needs to be careful with.
He spent the entire day taking pictures of every room in the house, toys, Jango and of course us.

We got snow off and on so we went to a nearby park to sled down a hill. The hill wasn't very big but it was good enough for a couple of hours of fun.

Yes, that is Jango with Isaiah!

The week went by fast and the boys had lots of fun going to Chuck E Cheese and Toys R Us to get spoiled by Grandma Jamie.

Happy Birthday Alex!

This year we decided to have his party at a local paint your own pottery studio.

Alex had so much fun sharing this experience with some of his friends. (David, Liam, Breanna, TJ and Tyler)

Here's Alex's awesome castle!

The pottery studio made Alex a birthday plate. All the kids plus Grandma Jamie, Isaiah, Mom and Dad got to put a thumb print on the plate. It's a great keepsake for his birthday.

100 days

Every school celebrates 100 school days every year, it's always a really fun time for them. Alex came home with these glasses on just beaming with excitment to show them off.

Alex said "I'm 100 days smarter! Are you proud of me?" I had to take a picture to capture the moment. He really knows how to make me laugh.
He liked them so much he wore them to school the next day.

All I want for new years is my two front teeth!

This picture was taken in the terminal in Dulles,WA.

Alex lost his tooth in the plane during take off. He freaked out a little because we couldn't get up and get himself a drink of water right away but the flight attendant gave him a little cup of water so he calmed down after that. Alex said "I'm so happy that my tooth fell out, now I can eat apples again!" I was laughing so hard because when he said "tooth" his tongue came out and he had made such a funny face from feeling his big gap.

Alex getting ready for the tooth fairy. Just before turning off the lights Alex said "I hope the tooth fairy leaves me $20 since I lost my tooth in the plane". That's my boy!
