On April 2nd we left Spreckels, CA. with the Parker family. CJ and James left for CT and Ande, our 4 boys and our family dog (Jango) left with me for FL. You are probably wondering "why?". Well, CJ needed to tow our boat to CT and wanted to find us a house before we (the beidalah's) made our way to CT from FL.
Let's just say it will be a road trip that will never be forgotten! The boys had some "moments" which in turn meant we had some "moments" BUT overall I have to say that we had a pretty smooth trip. No car problems, no serious injuries, and we didn't loose our way because we had Becky(our navigation guide). We stopped at a Cavern in Bourne, TX and at the Grand Canyon in AZ. We hit wind, rain and snow storms, but we stuck to our schedule and made it to FL in seven days. Too bad CJ didn't have the same luck we had because he had problem after problem. First a tire on the trailer blew, (okay, not totally unexpected but it was bad because of snow) then a rock cracked his windshield, (but was able to keep going) But here is the whammy.....Wait for it.... the axel had to be replaced on the trailer. In the middle of no where!!! A miracle happened and they found help. Hours later they hit the road. They didn't get to stop and rest any where the whole way because they had so many problems to stop for and a time frame to make it to CT for appts. to look at houses and a flight to catch from CT to FL. Whew... I'm tired just thinking about it. Poor James and CJ.
We ALL made it safely to FL. We had a blast at Disney World. After a week of fun we said good bye to our forever friends the Parkers :)
The next day we made our way up the coast to CT. We got to have quick visits with our friend Amy in FL and the Ridings Family and the Flemmings family. It was great being with them because it had been 2-3 years since we have seen either family and even longer for Amy.
