Our Visit To The Big Apple

My dad came for a visit from California so we decided to take him to his first trip to NY.It should have been a 2 1/2 hour trip but because of the holiday weekend it took us 6 hours! We still got to the hotel at a descent time so we went to the Rockefeller Center AKA "Top of the Rock". This was our amazing view.
The next day we toured the Tribute WTC 9/11;it was very somber. I didn't expect to get so emotional, but seeing the missing persons pictures and quotes all over the walls put faces to the people that have passed on . We took a guided tour and got a better idea of the mass destruction that had happened and later found out that our tour guide was a survivor from the first tower. He worked only three flours below from where the airplane struck. Even though it has been almost ten years since the incident he got very emotional as he described the chain of events as it happened around him. I didn't take any pictures, I just couldn't.

Our next stop was walking through Battery and Liberty Park. It was such a gorgeous day, we even got to meet Spider Man!

Our last stop was Time Square. As you can see it was very crowded and it felt like we were in a scence in a New York based movie.
We had a really good time showing my dad around. The last time we were in NY was 5 years ago so the boys didn't remember much. Hopefully they will have some lasting memories from this trip.
